Chase Design-Build constructed the Averitt terminal and shop facility on the west side of Atlanta, Georgia. This complex includes a 125-door terminal, 300 truck parking spaces, a five-bay repair shop, a fueling complex, truck washing facilities, an exercise room, and related facilities.
SAAD Development called on D.F. Chase Construction to design-build a new 225,000 square foot fully-automated facility for end user FedEx Ground. The facility had a tight timeline to be designed in about 45 days and construction to be ready to hand over the keys to FedEx within 10 months. D.F. Chase was successful in turning over the building on time to a very pleased client, as well as the project came in under budget.
The site includes special features like two different types of sound walls to protect the adjoining neighborhoods from the parking lot truck noise and also extremely high security standards as are typical of the FedEx Ground parcel-handling facilities. There is an elaborate automated gate and barrier system with a standalone security building including metal detectors and turnstiles to process both employees and visitors.
The building frame includes precast concrete exterior wall systems with an integral multi-color paint scheme surrounding a conventional steel frame and TPO roofing system. The interior of this “all the bells and whistles” logistics’ center includes staff offices including many prototypical features specific to FedEx Ground use.
D.F. Chase, Inc. completed this 50,098 square foot, 83- door truck terminal and shop in Orlando, Florida. This fully lit site encompasses 17 acres and has heavy-duty asphalt and concrete paving. This project was completed under a Design Build contract arrangement between Old Dominion Freight Line and D.F. Chase.
D.F. Chase, Inc. was chosen to construct this 436,800 square foot distribution center in Nashville, Tennessee. The center includes cross docks with all tilt walls. This project was completed in six months.
This design-build project for Old Dominion Freight Line in Memphis, Tennessee consists of 125,000 square feet of distribution space (267 dock doors), a 15,000 square foot main office, a 6,500 square foot administrative building, and a 40,000 square feet maintenance facility. Site work on this project includes a trailer and employee parking lot (35 acres), site lighting, a storm water management system, and underground utilities. The construction for all buildings consists of a concrete floor slab with concrete wall panels, and a conventional steel roof frame. The total duration for all construction activities was 14 months.
